Costume Construction 1

Introduces students to the basics of costume construction.  The class is required for every student declaring a major in the Theatre and provides a foundation of skill for subsequent classes and production assignments.  Through the creation of several projects, students learn about body measurements, drafting patterns, marking and cutting fabric, machine and hand sewing techniques.  Students make a apron, beret and rehearsal skirt/cape which becomes a tool kit for student performers in rehearsals, classes and scenes.  Students have an opportunity to serve as wardrobe staff for mainstage productions.
